How to set up IPTV on a MAG box — in 3 minutes flat.

MAG is the simplest IPTV box on the market — no apps, no sideload, no Google Play, no App Store. The whole setup is one screen: a portal URL plus your MAC address. Luxiptv (also written Lux IPTV) installs on every Infomir MAG — MAG 322, 324, 351, 420, 425A, 524, 540 and 550 — with 24,000+ live channels and 120,000+ movies in 4K HEVC, MAC whitelisted on WhatsApp by a real human in under 2 minutes.

  • 4K HEVC on MAG 524 / 540 / 550
Quick answer

The 3-minute version of how to setup IPTV on a MAG box

To set up IPTV on a MAG box in 2026, power your MAG on, connect the network, and copy your MAC address from Settings → System Settings → About → Hardware Info (it starts 00:1A:79:). Send the MAC to Luxiptv on WhatsApp. Within 2 minutes a real support agent whitelists your MAC and replies with your portal URL — it looks like http://yourname.luxiptv.me/c/. On your MAG box go to Settings → System Settings → Servers → Portals, paste the URL into Portal 1, save, then EXIT → \"Reboot Portal\" (not full reboot). The channel grid loads with 24,000+ live channels and 120,000+ on-demand titles in 4K HEVC. The same flow works on every Infomir MAG — 322, 322w1, 324, 324w2, 351, 420, 425A, 524, 540 and 550. No apps, no sideload, no PC, no jailbreak. The first 24 hours are free with no credit card.

The 5 steps in detail

Configure your MAG portal URL in 3 minutes

One screen. Two pieces of information. The longest wait is the 2-minute WhatsApp reply.

  1. 01

Power on your MAG box and connect the network

    30 seconds

Plug the MAG into HDMI and power. Connect Ethernet (recommended — gigabit on MAG 420 and newer) or join Wi-Fi via Settings → System Settings → Network → Wireless. The box must reach the internet before the portal can load.

  2. 02

    Find your MAC address

    20 seconds

Open Settings → System Settings → About → Hardware Info. Copy the line that starts 00:1A:79: — that's your MAC. (It's also printed on a sticker under the box and on the retail packaging.)

  3. 03

Send your MAC to Luxiptv on WhatsApp

    120 seconds (waiting)

Tap any green trial button on this page. WhatsApp opens with a pre-filled message — paste your MAC address and your MAG model (322, 324, 351, 420, 425A, 524, 540 or 550) and send. Within 2 minutes a real support agent whitelists your MAC and replies with your portal URL.

  4. 04

Open Settings → System Settings → Servers → Portals

    20 seconds

From the MAG home screen press the SETUP / SET button on the remote, then go System Settings → Servers → Portals. "Portal 1 URL" is the only field that matters. (Pair a USB keyboard for typing — saves 60 seconds and zero typos.)

  5. 05

Paste the portal URL and choose Reboot Portal

    30 seconds

Type the URL Luxiptv sent (it looks like http://yourname.luxiptv.me/c/), press OK to save. Back out, then on the home screen press the EXIT button → "Reboot Portal" (not full reboot — much faster). The channel grid loads with 24,000+ live channels and 120,000+ on-demand titles in 4K HEVC.

Every Infomir MAG model, ranked for IPTV

Which MAG box is best for IPTV in 2026?

The setup steps are identical on every MAG. Picture quality, HEVC support and zap speed are not.

MAG 524 / 524w3

Best for IPTV
Output
4K UHD @ 60fps · HEVC main-10 · HDR10
Best for
4K HDR living-room IPTV in 2026

Current sweet-spot MAG — 1GB RAM, Linux 4.9, native 4K HEVC, instant zap. Pairs perfectly with HDMI 2.0b 4K TVs. The model we recommend most often.

Pro tip: Hard-wire Ethernet — the gigabit port is rock-solid for 4K live sport.

MAG 540 / MAG 550

Premium
Output
4K UHD @ 60fps · HEVC · HDR10+ · Atmos
Best for
Premium 4K HDR + Atmos passthrough

Top-of-the-line Infomir hardware. 2GB RAM, faster silicon than the 524, HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos passthrough over HDMI. Overkill for HD viewers but the right call for a 4K HDR OLED.

Pro tip: Pair the Bluetooth voice remote — channel-name search is instant.

MAG 420 / MAG 425A

Output
4K UHD @ 60fps · HEVC main-10 · HDR10
Best for
4K viewers on a tighter budget

Generation before 524 but still 4K HEVC capable. 425A adds Bluetooth remote and slightly faster CPU. Both work flawlessly with Luxiptv portal — the 425A is the better second-hand buy.

Pro tip: Linux 4.x firmware — runs the modern Stalker portal cleanly.

MAG 351 / MAG 352

Output
Up to 4K HEVC (limited) · 1080p reliable
Best for
Mid-tier HD households, second TVs

Older but still capable HEVC-aware MAG. Bluetooth remote, 1080p flat-line stable, occasional 4K HEVC channel works. ~$60 second-hand. Solid for HD viewers; we don't recommend buying new in 2026.

Pro tip: Best used at 1080p — 4K HEVC plays but is borderline on busy live sport.

MAG 322 / 322w1 / MAG 324 / 324w2

HD only
Output
1080p H.264 · no HEVC · no 4K
Best for
Existing owners on HD TVs

The classic MAG line. Reliable, cheap (~$50 used), but H.264-only — no HEVC means many 4K channels in 2026 simply will not decode. Fine if your TV is 1080p; upgrade to 524 if you bought a 4K TV.

Pro tip: Many 4K Luxiptv channels won't play — switch to the 1080p versions in the EPG.

Generic / clone MAG boxes

Variable
Output
Varies — often labelled "MAG 322 clone"
Best for
Tight budgets, with caution

Knock-off boxes branded "MAG" or "like MAG" appear on cheap marketplaces. Many run a fork of the Stalker middleware that breaks on modern portals. Send us the MAC before subscribing — we test the box live.

Pro tip: If the MAC doesn't start 00:1A:79, it isn't a genuine Infomir MAG.

Recommended in 2026: MAG 524 for 4K HDR living-room IPTV at the best price-to-performance ratio, or MAG 540 / 550 if you want HDR10+ and Atmos passthrough on a high-end OLED.

MAG vs Android TV vs Firestick

Why MAG boxes still win in 2026

Three IPTV-capable hardware families, side by side. MAG is built for one job — and it shows.

Bottom line: pick a MAG 524 / 540 / 550 if IPTV is your primary use-case and you want the fastest, cleanest, lowest-fail-rate experience. Android TV box if you also want Netflix and YouTube on the same box, Firestick for travel and second TVs.

Why MAG subscribers pick Luxiptv

The best IPTV service for MAG box in 2026

Six reasons MAG households choose Luxiptv over generic Stalker portals.

Stalker-tuned portal

Our portal stack is profiled against MAG firmware quirks — channel switches under 400 ms, EPG loads in under 60 seconds, on-demand library opens instantly on MAG 322 through MAG 550.

MAC whitelist in 2 minutes

Send your MAC on WhatsApp; a real human whitelists it and replies with your portal URL — average response 90 seconds. No web dashboard, no waiting overnight.

4K HEVC main-10

Native 4K HEVC streams at full panel quality on MAG 524, 540 and 550. HDR10 / HDR10+ on the 540 and 550. Dolby Atmos passthrough over HDMI 2.0b.

Multi-MAG household

Multiple MAGs in your home? Send all the MAC addresses in one message — same Luxiptv account, every MAG whitelisted, one simultaneous stream included by default.

Portal stability

Multi-region CDN with automatic failover. If the primary node has a hiccup, your MAG re-pulls from the closest mirror — most subscribers never notice an outage.

Free 24h trial — zero card

Test every channel and the full 4K library on your real MAG box on your real Wi-Fi. No card means nothing to cancel — if your MAG can't decode HEVC, walk away.

Troubleshooting

MAG box IPTV not working? Fix it in 60 seconds

The four issues that cover 95% of MAG box support tickets.

Portal URL saved but the channel grid is still empty

Almost always a MAC-whitelist timing issue. The portal URL is correct, but your MAC hasn't been activated on our end yet. Re-send your MAC to Luxiptv on WhatsApp; we whitelist within 2 minutes. After we confirm, press EXIT on the remote and choose "Reboot Portal" — the channel grid loads. If it still doesn't, double-check the URL ends in /c/ (not /portal/ or no trailing slash).

"No link" or "Network connection error" on the home screen

The MAG box can't reach the internet. Open Settings → System Settings → Network. If you're on Ethernet, swap the cable and try a different LAN port on the router. If you're on Wi-Fi, re-join the network and verify the password (the on-screen keyboard sometimes adds a trailing space). Set DNS manually to 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) — fixes "No link" on most ISP routers within 30 seconds.

EPG (TV guide) is missing or shows yesterday's programs

Stalker portal EPG cache hasn't refreshed. From the home screen press SETUP → System Settings → Advanced Settings → Reset EPG (varies slightly by firmware version). Then EXIT → Reboot Portal. The 7-day guide reloads from our server in under 60 seconds. If EPG still doesn't load, message us — we force a portal-side EPG rebuild on your MAC.

MAG 322 / 324 won't play many 4K channels

Expected — the 322 and 324 are H.264-only, no HEVC decoder. Most 4K streams in 2026 are HEVC main-10. The fix is to use the 1080p version of the channel (always listed alongside in the Luxiptv EPG, e.g. "Sky Sports HD" instead of "Sky Sports 4K"). For a permanent fix, upgrade to a MAG 524 — the cheapest current model with full 4K HEVC support.

From real MAG subscribers

What subscribers said after they activated Luxiptv on their MAG box

Bought a MAG 524 specifically for IPTV. Pasted the portal URL Luxiptv sent on WhatsApp, hit Reboot Portal, and 24,000 channels appeared. Premier League in 4K HEVC, sub-second channel zaps. Faster than my old Sky Q box.

Switched from a clunky Android box to a MAG 540 + Luxiptv. Boots in 8 seconds, channels switch instantly, no Google nonsense. Bundesliga in HDR10+ via Atmos to my AVR. Setup took 3 minutes including the WhatsApp wait.
Helga S.
MAG 540 · Germany
Old MAG 322 from years ago, thought I'd need a new box. Luxiptv whitelisted my MAC, sent the portal URL, and HD channels work flawlessly. They even pointed out which 4K channels won't decode — dead honest, exactly what I needed.

MAG box IPTV setup — questions answered

IPTV on MAG box — FAQ

The eight questions every MAG owner asks before they paste the portal URL.

How do I set up IPTV on a MAG box in 2026?

Setting up IPTV on a MAG box is the simplest setup of any device — no apps to install, no sideload, no Google Play. MAG runs Stalker / Ministra middleware natively in the firmware, so the entire setup is one screen: the portal URL. Power your MAG box on, plug Ethernet (or join Wi-Fi), and go to Settings → System Settings → Servers → Portals. In the "Portal 1 URL" field, type the URL we send you — it looks like http://yourname.luxiptv.me/c/. Save and pick "Reboot Portal" (not full reboot — much faster). On screen, find your MAC address (Settings → System Settings → About → Hardware Info, format 00:1A:79:xx:xx:xx) and send it to Luxiptv on WhatsApp using the green button. Within 2 minutes a real support agent whitelists your MAC, the portal reloads, and 24,000+ live channels plus 120,000+ on-demand titles in 4K HEVC appear. Total time on every MAG model — 322, 324, 351, 420, 425A, 524, 540, 550 — is 3 to 4 minutes.

Where do I find the MAC address on my MAG box?

Every Infomir MAG box prints its MAC address in three places, so you never have to guess. (1) On screen: Settings → System Settings → About → Hardware Info — the MAC line shows the full address in 00:1A:79:xx:xx:xx format (Infomir's vendor prefix is always 00:1A:79). (2) On a sticker on the underside of the box itself — a small white label under the model number. (3) On the original retail packaging — the same sticker is printed on the outside of the box it shipped in. Send any one of these to Luxiptv on WhatsApp and we whitelist it inside 2 minutes. The MAC is what authenticates your subscription on a MAG — there is no username, no password, no login screen. The MAC is the login. Keep it private: anyone holding your MAC can stream on your subscription, so do not post it in public forums.

What is the MAG box portal URL and where do I get it?

The portal URL is the single most important field on a MAG box — it tells the firmware where to download the channel list, EPG and on-demand library from. The format is always a full HTTP(S) URL ending in /c/ or /stalker_portal/c/, for example http://yourname.luxiptv.me/c/. You do not invent it — your IPTV provider issues it after they whitelist your MAC. With Luxiptv, you message your MAC address on WhatsApp, support replies with your portal URL, and you type that URL into Settings → System Settings → Servers → Portals → "Portal 1 URL". Save, choose "Reboot Portal", and the channel grid loads. The portal URL is reusable across every MAG box you own as long as the MAC of each box is whitelisted — a household with two MAG 524s can use the same Luxiptv account with one portal URL and two whitelisted MACs.

Which MAG box is best for IPTV in 2026?

Three MAG boxes lead the lineup in 2026. The MAG 524 is the current sweet spot — 4K UHD at 60fps, HEVC main-10 hardware decode, HDR10, 1GB RAM, gigabit Ethernet, Linux 4.9. It runs every Stalker portal flawlessly and pairs with HDMI 2.0b TVs. The MAG 540 / 550 are the premium picks — 4K@60 HEVC, HDR10+, Dolby Atmos passthrough, 2GB RAM, faster channel-switching silicon, Bluetooth remote with voice search. They are overkill for HD-only viewers but the right call if you have a 4K HDR OLED. For tight budgets the MAG 351 is still the best HEVC-capable older box — solid 1080p, occasional 4K HEVC, ~$60 second-hand. Avoid the MAG 322 / 324 in 2026 — they cap at 1080p H.264, no HEVC, and many 4K channels on modern IPTV providers (Luxiptv included) are HEVC-only. Message us your model before you buy.

MAG box vs Android TV box — which is better for IPTV?

MAG boxes are purpose-built for IPTV — locked-down Linux firmware, no apps, no Google services, no distractions, no background updates. They boot to the portal in 8 seconds, switch channels in under 400 milliseconds, and never lose a stream to a Play Store auto-update. Android TV boxes (Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV, Mi Box) are flexible — you also get YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, gaming and Cast — at the cost of higher background CPU and the occasional Android crash. For an IPTV-first household where the box does nothing else, MAG wins on stability and zap speed. For a single living-room device that needs to also run Netflix and Plex, Android wins on flexibility. Picture quality on a MAG 540 vs an Nvidia Shield Pro is identical at 4K HEVC HDR10 — the difference is the operating system, not the silicon. Many of our subscribers run both: MAG in the bedroom, Shield in the living room.

My MAG box is stuck on "Loading portal" — how do I fix it?

"Loading portal" stuck on a MAG box has exactly three causes, in order of probability. (1) Wrong portal URL: a single wrong character — uppercase letter, missing /c/ at the end, http:// vs https:// — and the portal can't load. Re-open Settings → System Settings → Servers → Portals, clear Portal 1 URL completely, and re-paste the URL Luxiptv sent you on WhatsApp using a USB or Bluetooth keyboard (avoid the on-screen remote keyboard — it auto-capitalises). (2) MAC not yet whitelisted: if you typed the URL before we processed your MAC, the portal returns empty. Message us on WhatsApp; we whitelist in under 2 minutes and you choose "Reboot Portal" again. (3) DNS / network: switch the box's DNS to 1.1.1.1 in Settings → System Settings → Network, then reboot. If all three are fine, send us your MAC + a screenshot of the portal screen and we diagnose live.

Do I need any apps or sideloading on a MAG box?

No — the MAG firmware is the IPTV app. Infomir designed MAG boxes specifically for IPTV, so the Stalker / Ministra middleware that loads channel lists, EPG and on-demand video is baked into the system. There is no Google Play, no Amazon Appstore, no sideloading, no APK, no developer mode. You don't install IPTV Smarters or TiviMate on a MAG — those are Android apps and MAG isn't Android. The only thing you configure is the portal URL. Newer MAG firmware (Linux 4.x on MAG 420 / 425A / 524 / 540 / 550) does add an optional Xtream Codes API client and an embedded browser — but for 99% of subscribers the standard portal flow is the right answer. Compared to Firestick (sideload required) or Apple TV (App Store required), MAG is hands-down the simplest setup in IPTV — most subscribers finish in 3 minutes flat.

Is it legal to use a MAG box for IPTV?

Yes. Infomir MAG boxes are commercial Linux set-top boxes manufactured in Ukraine and sold legally in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and the European Union. They are CE / FCC certified hardware and the Stalker / Ministra middleware they run is licensed business software used by hundreds of cable operators and ISPs worldwide. The hardware itself is unambiguously legal in every region MAG ships to. What matters legally is the source of the channel list you load, not the box. Luxiptv operates as a content aggregation reseller, sourcing streams from licensed third-party providers, and does not host or own copyrighted content directly. Subscribers in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and the EU have used Luxiptv on MAG 322, 324, 351, 420, 425A, 524, 540 and 550 boxes for years without incident. As with any streaming service, you remain responsible for ensuring the content you watch is permitted in your jurisdiction.
